Short cv:

I am a Master of Marine Science graduate from the Marine Science Institute, University of the Philippines, Diliman. My field of interest is coastal and estuarine oceanography, particularly marine biogeochemistry and carbonate chemistry. My master’s thesis is entitled “Spatial and temporal variability of carbonate parameters in Bolinao-Anda, Pangasinan”. For my PhD work, I plan to pursue carbonate chemistry, coupled with automated equipment measuring other biogeochemical parameters.

The fellowship is an opportunity to prepare myself for my PhD and to further widen my knowledge on the techniques, equipment used and technologies involved in carbonate chemistry. The cruise experience is an chance to receive comprehensive training in measurement of carbonate parameters on a ship platform. On returning to the Philippines, I will share the learning from this fellowship.
