Short cv:
I am an oceanographer specialized in marine chemistry from the Universidad Nacional del Sur (UNS). I obtained the degree in 2018, and it is equivalent to a Bachelor and Master due to the courses and thesis that the students must do. During this period, I did a one year internship at the UNS-INQUISUR Environmental Chemistry Research Laboratory under the advice of Dr. Ana M. Martínez. The objective of my research was the study of dissolved organic matter properties in the Argentine Shelf, and part of the results were presented in two conferences. In 2019, I was granted with a fellowship from CONICET to conduct my PhD. My task is to investigate the CO2 dynamic in the Drake Passage. The analysis of the mean annual cycle of FCO2 and the thermal and non thermal effects have been presented in two conferences (national and international) and a paper submitted for publication in an international journal. Also, I have collaborated in six research projects as a PhD student (three of them refer to the carbonate system), and I have attended a large number of national and international courses related to biogeochemistry. In 2022, I did an international internship of 2 weeks at the Centro de Investigación en Ecosistemas de la Patagonia (CIEP), Chile, under the supervision of Dr. Rodrigo Torres. The training consisted on the laboratory measurement of the carbonate system in seawater samples collected in the southwestern Atlantic Ocean. Also, I participated in the International Oceanographic Research Cruise "South Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation (SAMOC) 2022", which included the sampling of the waters of the continental shelf and the Brazil Current. My task was to collect and analyze pH, total alkalinity, chlorophyll and nutrients samples and to collaborate in CTD operation. In the near future, my goal is to continue the investigation of CO2 dynamics and carbon sequestration patterns in frontal areas of the Argentinian Continental Shelf exposed to the growing pressure of climate change.
